Privacy policy
What we collect when you order, what we do with it, and what we never do.
Last updated October 12, 2026.
This policy explains what personal information Miami Flowers ("Miami Flowers", "we", "us") collects when you visit MiamiFlowers.com, order flowers, receive flowers from us or get in touch, what we do with it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers the people who order and the people they send flowers to.
The short version
- We collect what we need to take an order and get it to the door: who it is from, who it is for, where it goes and what the card says.
- Your card is handled by Stripe. We never see or store the full number.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information, to data brokers or anyone else. We do share some of it, in hashed form, with Meta to measure and show our ads, and you can switch that off at any time.
- The card message is used to make your order and nothing else. It is never used for advertising.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@miamiflowers.com.
Information we collect
When you order. Your name, email address and phone number; the recipient's name, delivery address, phone number and any delivery instructions such as a gate code; the delivery date; the card message; the items you choose; and, for recurring orders, the schedule you pick. Billing details and payment information go directly to Stripe, which tells us the card brand, last four digits, expiry and whether the payment succeeded.
When you create an account or sign in. Your email address and the sign in details our sign in provider needs to verify you. Your account shows your orders and deliveries.
When you contact us. Whatever you include in an email, text, call or form, and our replies.
When you leave a review. Your rating, your comments and the order it relates to.
When you use the card message helper. The occasion, relationship and any words you type into it, so it can suggest a message.
When we deliver. A delivery photo of the arrangement at the address, a short note from the driver, and the delivery time.
Automatically, when you browse. Your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP, the pages you view, the arrangements you look at or add to your cart, how you reached the site (for example a search engine, an AI assistant or an ad) and similar usage information. We collect this through cookies, local storage on your device (which also keeps your cart) and similar technologies, as described below.
From other sources. Our payment provider tells us about fraud checks and disputes. If you reach us through an ad, the ad platform may tell us which campaign brought you.
How we use it
- To fulfil your order: to take payment, build the arrangement, print the card, deliver it, send you confirmations, delivery updates and the delivery photo, and contact you or the recipient if there is a problem with the delivery.
- To run recurring orders: to charge your saved card on schedule and send reminders before each charge.
- To support you: to answer questions, fix problems and process refunds.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure: to screen payments, stop abuse of our tools and protect our customers and us.
- To improve the site: to understand which pages and arrangements people use, find what is broken and decide what to build next.
- For advertising: to measure and show our ads, as described under "Meta Pixel and Conversions API" below.
- To comply with the law: to keep tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests and enforce our terms of service.
The people you send flowers to
When you send flowers, you give us someone else's details. Please only do so for a genuine delivery. We use a recipient's details to deliver the order and to contact them about that delivery. As explained under "Advertising", we may also share a recipient's name, phone number, ZIP code and city with Meta in hashed form. We do not add recipients to our email list. A recipient can ask us to delete their details or stop using them for advertising in the same way a customer can.
Card messages
The card message is seen by the people who build and deliver your order and, of course, by the recipient. It is stored with the order so we can answer questions about it. We never use it for advertising, never share it with ad platforms and never publish it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the following, and only what each needs:
- Our florists and drivers, who build and deliver your order. They see the recipient's name, address, phone number, delivery instructions and card message.
- Courier and delivery partners, such as local couriers and on demand delivery services, when one of them delivers your order. They receive what they need to complete that delivery: the recipient's name, delivery address, phone number and delivery instructions, and may send us proof of delivery such as a photo. We do not send them the card message, and they may not use the information for their own marketing.
- Stripe, to process payments, save cards for recurring orders, detect fraud and handle disputes.
- Clerk, to provide account sign in.
- Resend, to send order emails and receipts.
- Vercel, which hosts the site, stores delivery photos and provides privacy friendly page analytics.
- PostHog, for product analytics that help us understand how the site is used.
- OpenAI, through the Vercel AI Gateway, to generate card message suggestions when you use the helper. We send only what you type into it, not your name or the recipient's details.
- Meta, for advertising, as described below.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety, our rights or the rights of others.
- A buyer of our business, if we sell or transfer all or part of it, subject to this policy.
Our service providers may only use your information to provide their services to us, except where they act independently under their own privacy policies, as Stripe does for fraud prevention and Meta does for advertising.
Meta Pixel and Conversions API
We use the Meta Pixel on this website and the Meta Conversions API on our servers to share information about your visit with Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram.
What we share: the pages you view, the arrangements you look at or add to your cart, and, when you place an order, the order value together with your email address and phone number in hashed form (scrambled with SHA-256 before they leave our servers). When you send flowers, we may also share the recipient's name, phone number and delivery ZIP code and city with Meta in hashed form so we can show them our ads. We never share the card message.
Why: to measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram work and to improve them.
Anyone, sender or recipient, can ask us to stop using their details for advertising at any time on our data sharing opt out page.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential: to keep your cart, keep you signed in and protect checkout. The site does not work properly without these.
- Analytics: Vercel Analytics and PostHog, to count visits and understand how pages are used.
- Advertising: the Meta Pixel, described above.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop the cart or checkout from working.
Browser signals. We do not currently respond automatically to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control browser signals. To opt out of advertising, use our data sharing opt out page.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not give or sell customer or recipient lists to data brokers, other florists, marketers or anyone else, and nobody pays us for your information. The service providers listed above receive only what they need to work for us.
The one thing to know about advertising. We share limited information about visits and orders with Meta, in hashed form, so we can measure and show our ads on Facebook and Instagram, as described above. No money changes hands for it, but California and some other state privacy laws call this "sharing" for cross context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising", and may treat it as a "sale" under their broad definitions. We would rather be clear about it than hide behind a technicality.
Do not share my information. If you do not want your information used for advertising, sender or recipient, tell us on our data sharing opt out page, by emailing hello@miamiflowers.com or by texting or calling (305) 380-3333. We will stop sharing your details with Meta for advertising. It does not affect your orders, your account or the emails about your deliveries.
We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.
Emails and texts
We send order emails, such as confirmations, delivery updates and receipts, because they are part of the service. We do not currently send marketing emails or newsletters. If we start, we will only email people who signed up, every one will have an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing will never stop order emails. We do not send marketing text messages. If you text us, we reply by text about your question or order.
How long we keep it
- Orders, payments and related messages: for as long as we need them to meet our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements.
- Delivery photos and driver notes: with the order record, so we can answer questions about a delivery.
- Accounts: until you ask us to close your account, after which we delete or anonymise it, except for order records we must keep.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe, and a record that you unsubscribed so we do not email you again.
- Analytics data: for the retention periods set by our analytics providers.
Security
We use encryption in transit on every page, our payment provider handles card details so they never touch our servers, access to order information is limited to the people who need it, and links sent to drivers and reviewers are signed so they cannot be guessed. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us sensitive information, such as card numbers, by email or text. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law, for example for tax;
- stop using your information for advertising; and
- stop sending you marketing emails.
Residents of some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others, have these rights under state law, along with the right to appeal our decision. To make a request, email hello@miamiflowers.com or text or call (305) 380-3333. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by asking you to reply from the email address or phone number on the order. You may use an authorised agent, who must show us your signed permission. We will respond within 45 days, and if we decline a request we will tell you why and how to appeal. If you are unhappy with our answer to an appeal, you may contact your state attorney general. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
The Service is for adults. You must be 18 to place an order or create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Flowers are sometimes sent to children, and in that case we use the child's name and address only to make the delivery. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@miamiflowers.com and we will delete it.
Where your information is processed
We are based in Florida and our service providers store and process information in the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Third party sites
The site may link to sites and services we do not run, such as social networks or maps. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top, and if a change is material we will make a reasonable effort to tell you, for example by email.
